Our hospital, which we started to work in December 2008, started polyclinic service in March 2009 and the first open heart surgery was successfully performed on 27 May 2009. On September 28, 2009 Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN and the Minister of Health at that time. The official opening of our institution was realized by Dr. Recep AKDAĞ.
Mehmet Akif Ersoy Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital is the only hospital belonging to the Ministry of Health in the European side of cardiovascular surgery. Since 2009, it has become a reference in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and has contributed to the world medical literature.
