07 Mart 2019

It is a high-level diagnostic test that Estimate the heart and lung function of the patient or healthy person during exercises. The main objective of this test is to Estimate. the adequacy of heart and lungs under stress.

What for cardiopulmonary exercise test?

-Evaluation of functional capacity (pik VO2)

-Evaluation before the surgery.

-For the evaluation of the Disability.

-Evaluation of response to treatment in patient groups such as heart failure.

- in particular, to estimate compliance before heart transplantation.

How is a cardiopulmonary exercise test performed?

High-tech devices and an experienced team are required for cardiopulmonary exercise testing. For the test, the patient is exercised on a special walking belt produced for this purpose. Before the test, the patient is told in detail how to perform the test. Before the test, the patient's vital signs, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen level in the blood is measured. In addition, preoperative pulmonary function tests and heart EkG are performed. The amount of oxygen taken from the atmosphere during the exercise and the amount of carbon dioxide it gives to the atmosphere are continuously measured and followed by the physician. When the physician deems it necessary, the test can be terminated or the test is finished when the patient indicates that he is tired and can no longer continue the test.

The maximal oxygen content (VO2max) taken by the patient during the test is one of the most important markers of the lungs. In addition, heart rate, blood pressure and heart EkG, and heart response to exercise is evaluated and the patient or disease can be decided about.
