Mehmet Akif Ersoy Göğüs Kalp ve Damar Cerrahisi Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi is the only Ministry of Health hospital on the European side of Istanbul providing services in the field of cardiovascular surgery. Since 2009, it has become a reference center in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and has achieved a position that contributes to the global medical literature.
Our hospital aims to prevent and treat cardiovascular diseases and provides services with a dedicated team of academic physicians, well-trained specialist doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff. Our inpatient clinics primarily include Adult and Pediatric Cardiology, Adult and Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery, and Thoracic Surgery, with a total capacity of 465 beds. All rooms are designed according to high-quality standards and arranged as single-occupancy suite rooms. Additionally, the departments of Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Neurology, Nephrology, General Surgery, Physical Therapy, and Dental Outpatient Clinic provide consultation services for both inpatient and outpatient clinics.
The intensive care units in our hospital include the Coronary Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery ICU, and Cardiovascular Surgery ICU. To accelerate our patients’ recovery process, our skilled physicians, surgeons, and healthcare staff work together to provide advanced care and patient-centered treatments using state-of-the-art and innovative methods in these units.
All adult and pediatric cardiac surgeries, as well as peripheral vascular surgeries, are performed with very high success rates in our 15 fully equipped operating rooms. The diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening arrhythmias using advanced electrophysiological and interventional techniques, varicose vein treatments, open-heart surgeries, vascular surgical procedures, and diagnostic and therapeutic interventional cardiology procedures are frequently performed at our hospital by experienced physicians.
