Cardiac Catheterization and Angiography Laboratory

The Cardiac Catheterization and Angiography Laboratory provides patient-centered services in accordance with medical ethics, with the aim of delivering cardiological treatments for adult heart diseases, congenital heart diseases in children, and electrophysiological conditions in both adults and children. With its experienced team of specialists, the laboratory carries out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while maintaining a patient-focused approach. Within the laboratory, patient care programs for diagnosis and treatment are developed by a multidisciplinary team consisting of cardiology specialists, cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, consulting physicians, scrub and circulating nurses, and radiology technicians and technologists. Together with our young, dynamic, and experienced expert team, our center is able to provide some of the most successful healthcare services in Türkiye for the treatment of all types of heart diseases.

The Cardiac Catheterization and Angiography Laboratory in our hospital contains eight procedure rooms equipped with high-quality materials and modern technological devices. Five of these rooms are used for adult cardiology procedures, one is used for adult electrophysiological studies and pacemaker implantation, one is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart diseases in children, and one is used for pediatric electrophysiological studies. The device used for pediatric congenital heart disease procedures is a biplane system, while the device in the pediatric electrophysiology room is portable. The remaining angiography devices have monoplane capability. In addition, the establishment of another angiography room was planned for 2019. Furthermore, in the hospital’s operating theater, the necessary technical infrastructure is available in one operating room to enable cardiovascular surgeons and cardiology specialists to perform hybrid interventional surgical procedures together, and these procedures are carried out successfully. On average, approximately 2,000 procedures are performed each month in the Cardiac Catheterization and Angiography Laboratory, amounting to about 18,000 procedures annually.

The Pediatric Cardiology Cardiac Catheterization and Angiography Department has been successfully providing services since the establishment of our hospital. With the successful procedures performed in this field every year, our team represents our country at many national and international congresses and scientific meetings.

Procedures Performed in the Adult Electrophysiology Laboratory of Our Hospital:

·         Electrophysiological Study (EPS)

·         Radiofrequency (Heat) and Cryo (Cold) Ablation

·         Pacemaker Implantation

·         ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) Implantation

·         Biventricular ICD (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Device for Heart Failure) Implantation

Procedures Performed in the Pediatric Cardiology Electrophysiology Laboratory of Our Hospital:

·         Electrophysiological Study without Radiation Using a Complex Mapping System

·         Radiofrequency and Cryo Ablation without Radiation Using a Complex Mapping System

·         Pacemaker and ICD Implantation

The Pediatric Electrophysiology Laboratory has been successfully providing services in our hospital since 2011. Our team performs one of the highest numbers of cases annually in our country in this field and holds an important position in Europe and worldwide. The Angiography Catheterization Laboratory continues to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without interruption, providing reliable, modern, economical, efficient, fast, and high-quality healthcare services. By enabling academic studies and scientific research in the field of cardiology, it also contributes to the development of new medical knowledge and applications while prioritizing patient and staff satisfaction.
