PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE
The Medical Microbiology Laboratory began providing services in March 2008 as a laboratory aiming to deliver high-quality reference laboratory services required for scientific research and meeting international quality criteria. Through the services we provide, our goal is to contribute to Istanbul Mehmet Akif Ersoy Chest, Heart and Vascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital, which stands out in the sector with pioneering practices, by working with a team that never compromises ethical principles, is experienced in its field, follows technological developments, and focuses on patient, patient relative, and employee satisfaction.
In line with this objective, our laboratory is a member of quality control organizations such as CAP, RIQAS, and LABQUALITY. In addition, it has joined and successfully participated in the networks of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health Public Health Institution, including UAMDS (National Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System), UK NEQAS CAESSAR (Central Asian and Eastern European Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance), and TULSA (National Tuberculosis Laboratory Surveillance Network).
Services Provided:
The services offered in the microbiology laboratory include all procedures aimed at preventing diseases and diagnosing and monitoring existing diseases. The units and procedures performed include the following.
